KABUL — At least 20 people were shot dead and 15 wounded in Monday’s attack on a Kabul university in the Afghan capital of Kabul, in accordance with the media reports.
As per the report of a security official, some militants suddenly entered the Law Department of Kabul University loaded with weapons.
The relevant authorizes apprised that a special forces operation continued for hours.
In accordance with the Afghan Interior Ministry, the assault was ultimately stopped when three gunmen were shot dead.
The assault commenced around the time when government officials were likely to arrive at the University for the inauguration of an Iranian book fair.
However, the Taliban strongly condemned the assault and denied involvement in the attack.
In recent years, the alleged “Islamic State” group has targeted education centers in Afghanistan, the previous assault was outside a tuition center in Kabul that left 24 people dead. The group is also taken responsibility for a 2018 assault in front of Kabul University in which dozens of people were killed.
