In the month of August, 74 more employees have been fired by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on different charges including submission of fake or altered degrees, damage of company property, bribery, theft, and drug trafficking.
As per reports, the 74 fired employees did not include any pilot or crew member.
While 2 employees were sacked for engaging in illegal or immoral activities and 1 employee was found involved in alcohol or drugs. The other 3 employees were sacked for stealing and tampering with government records and one was involved in smuggling.
After a complete investigation by officers and Committees, the employees were convicted and fired from the services.
On the other hand, the management of PIA, awarded appreciation letters to 17 employees for viewing devotion and commitment and monetary awards were given to five other employees for working beyond the call of duty, PIA spokesman said.
“Discipline is the most significant characteristic of any organization as it unites the employees and motivates them to follow the organization’s rules and regulations. It is, therefore, imperative to appreciate hardworking and dedicated employees and punish defaulters found guilty after transparent and unbiased inquiries as per law,” the PIA’s HR department told in a letter to all employees.
It may be remembered that in the month of July, PIA had fired 52 employees on charges of forgery or change of degree, violation of rules, and unauthorized provision of official information to the media.
